In a generic AC unit, there are five major components to work on. Those five are compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion device and copper refrigerant tube.   • Evaporator is the first unit: Also known as heat exchanger, this evaporator helps in absorbing heat into the chosen central AC. However, do not be confused as this evaporator is not designed to absorb heat exactly. It is primarily use is to take cooled refrigerant, fed right from bottom of evaporator coils, in order to absorb heat produced. There is a liquid refrigerant, which flows from bottom of this coil and boils to move to the top.
  • The compressor to work on: Once you are through with the functionality of evaporator, it is time to concentrate on compressor. This is basically the heart of air conditioning system and helps in pumping refrigerant through the unit. It follows a designed pressure and flow rate to achieve the target. While entering the compressor, this refrigerant is in vaporized state. It is sucked inside the unit due to its low pressure size. It helps in compressing vapor using the basic temperature and pressure. The vapor leaving this part is quite hot and might burn you.
  • Time for the condenser: Let’s discuss about the condenser’s role in refrigerant procedure of an air conditioning unit. It is also known as air cooled condenser and works just like in the same manner like evaporator. However, the function is exactly opposite to an evaporator. This condenser unit is basically located outdoor near the compressor. The main aim of this item is to reject latent and sensible vapor heat, which could be absorbed by AC unit.
  • Metering device: The last but most important part of this unit has to be the metering device. It helps in controlling liquid flow of refrigerant to the evaporator. It is a dividing point between low pressure and high pressure sides of this system. When this liquid passes to evaporator through the metering device then the pressure drops.
